Itinerary
On your arrival at Entebbe, you will be picked up by our representative, who will be your driver/guide who will brief you through your safari programme and then proceed on to Kibale Forest National Park. You drive through traditional homesteads of Mityana, Mubende and tea plantations of Kabarole, with en-route lunch. You arrive at Kibale in the afternoon and check-in to the service of our accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Start the day with some sensational chimpanzee tracking in the heart of the Kibale Forest. The reserve boasts the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa, providing sightings of wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys and the black-and-white colobus monkeys on your guided nature walk. After a hearty lunch, we transfer to Bigodi to visit a local community initiative and we will have the Bigodi Wetland Walk. Be on the lookout for primates and the rare great blue turaco, one of the 138 bird species found in the swamp area. Later in the evening we will return to our service of accommodation at our lodge for dinner and overnight.
After a relaxed breakfast at our lodge, we check out of our service of accommodation to transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park arriving in the afternoon hours. We enjoy our lunch at our lodge and relax around, later we leave the lodge for our community walk visiting the Batwa community, dance with them as well visiting their shops. We later get back to our area of accommodation for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, we proceed to the park offices for registration and briefing before starting the highlight of our activities; the Gorilla trekking. Encountering the largest and heaviest primates is an adventurous and memorable activity which can’t be easily erased on your mind. Tracking from Bwindi sometimes involves walking up steep densely forested hills; therefore some fitness may be required. It may take 3-8 hours under muddy and strenuous conditions, sometimes with rain overhead. But all these conditions cease to be a challenge the moment you come face to face with the amazing mountain gorilla. You will later come back to our accommodation, dinner and overnight.
After a relaxed breakfast at your lodge, checkout and embark on your transfer back to Entebbe with lunch en-route and a brief stopover at the equator and later arrive in Entebbe where you will be dropped of at your hotel or airport for your departure flight depending on your program.
